On January 6, 2018 Tony, Lane and I depart from JFK to meet Jamie in Athens, Greece. This is the first time seeing Jamie since he left June 2, 2016 for the Peace Corps. We will spend a week in Greece, then Lane heads back to school and Tony and I fly back with Jamie to his "home" country of Moldova for a week, with a side trip to Romania for a couple days.
Much like the trip to Argentina, I will attempt to post throughout the trip and upload pictures and comments as we go. So much to do to get ready... but remembering how to post to the blog is thankfully one thing off my plate.
As a precursor I am uploading some pics for twofold reason.... (1) test that I still know how to do it, and (2) set the scene by sharing some pics of Moldova from Jamie.
Optional village transportation:
Easter feast. Note ham flower on lower left side:
Building named Draga Lina (meaning Dear Lina). It was a distribution point for clay roofing tiles and hemp to be shipped through the Black Sea, and by far the first building to get electricity in the area.
Some pretty church-y building (hope I don't lose you with the technical lingo):
Homemade automobile. Detach front, till garden, reattach for a night on the town!:
Jamie teaching (although he is not there for teaching... but somehow got roped into teaching):
