Well here we are at the Athens airport waiting to depart for Moldova. For some strange reason the tablet would not connect to the blog site to publish in our hotel, but will here. So we'll do the Reader's Digest version of Athens, unfortunately with no pics still at this point, but I have TONS to upload later and will insert them with the appropriate posting.
We left JFK late, and I overhead the Swiss Air flight attendant say there was no reason on their part. They were ready to go but JFK held them back. And the wintery mix began, which meant extra time for de-icing, but we finally took off! That's the good news. The bad news is it was too late to make the connection. Kudos JFK.
Flying business class is just as unreal as the lounge. The seats actually recline fully into a bed. Seriously, it's almost too much. Champagne after being seated. The curtain clearly devices the haves and the have nots. Although those in the back do have something the others don't... their knees up their nose. Lol!
We get to Zurich and are routed to Frankfurt, then Athens in order to arrive at 10pm-ish which is 2 hours before the next direct flight arrives. Dilemma. We go with connection through Frankfurt and risk missing connection or cancelled flights. After all, what more could go wrong (insert laughing so hard you cry emoji here)? The driver still insists he can pick us up at 10pm with Jamie and drive us 2 hours to bus tour. Plus, I will finally be in Germany! I don't care what anyone says, it counts.
We make it to Germany, then find our next gate to eagerly wait the final leg to Athens. Day 4 after we left home and we made it! Time to start boarding. No ticket agent. Hmmmm..... The plane hasn't even landed yet. So not surprised. We left over an hour late and made it into Athens at 11pm their time. And believe it or not, our bags made it with us and Jamie and the driver were there.
Boarding now. More later!
Wow... hopefully the rest of the trip will be easier... Cannot wait to see your pictures from Greece.
