Most of the kids here went to the Octoberfest this weekend. We decided to stay back and explore Cordoba and hike instead. The Octoberfest would be okay if you had a place to stay, but going on a 2 1/2 hour  bus ride home afterwards with presumably other drunk Octoberfestians (ha-ha... is that even a word? ) did not sound enticing.  Plus, from what we heard Cordoba has an awesome night market on the weekend we want to check out. Apparently it ends at 10pm, which is totally shocking considering the Argentine (or is it Argentinian?) schedule. We were planning on going later tonight but then heard it ended at 10pm, so we will go tomorrow instead.

A couple, actually three, new arrivals came today. There are only 6 of us here this weekend, so we had a nice dinner, shared some Argentinian wine and fernet, and chatted for a bit.  They are nice kids.  One just graduated graduate school and is touring until January. Actually quite a few kids here are doing that.

We took some clothes to the local launderette today. They wash and fold your clothes for pretty cheap. Thankfully they were open during siesta. Not much else is. It's like being on some movie ghost town set or one of the ones "left behind" when you walk around during siesta. You literally are waiting for the tumbleweed to blow by. There are no people walking the street or cars on the road. It is so twilight zone-ish.  Even the dogs take siesta.

Not many pictures today because I used the 35mm camera instead and can't transfer them to the tablet. Actually, there's only one of Lorna at the launderette. I will have some great ones when I upload my camera at home though. :)

Caio!

  1. Kirstin, have you had a chance to go to any museums you mentioned in your prior post?
