We arrived in Iguazu Falls yesterday afternon. It's very pretty here. We are going to the falls today for a full day. I'll be bringing my 35mm camera so no pics to upload until I get back home. Later I'll take a walk around here and get some jungle shots to upload. The hotel is okay. Anything is better than the house we stayed in for the past two weeks!  Although there is quite a bit of sticker shock here. We were spoiled with prices in Ville Allende. A bottle of decent malbec cost about 50 pasos ($3.50ish) and here the least expensive is 148 pasos (appx $10). We ate at the hotel restaurant, and it was very good.  You can't drink the tap water here though.  That was written in a little book on the night table, not posted clearly in bathroom. Glad I read it right when we got in. Crisis narrowly averted!  Tons of birds chirping away this morning.

The Internet speed is normal here. Whoooo-hooo! I almost feel human again.

Here are some shots from our trip to Iguazu yesterday:

Cloud cover heading to Buenos Aires.

Airport layover at Buenos Aires. We had something to eat at Hard Rock Cafe.  All English speakers ordered burgers, fries, and beers (we had loaded potato skins and beer) and the locals were having coffee and croissants. Mind you, it was 10am.

Beer of choice down here. Good, not great.

Heading out of BA

River close to Iguazzu.

Jungle while landing. The airport in Iguazzu is small. When the plane landed it had to break pretty hard and was swaying a bit. When it stopped everyone clapped. Not sure if happy to be at Iguazu or happy we didn't take a run into the jungle.

Ride to hotel. Not quite sure of the animal in the sign, but maybe we'll find out today at the park.

Horses on windy side road through jungle to hotel. We are kind of in the middle of nowhere. Alhough everything seems to be kind of he middle of nowhere here.

Hotel room. Decent, but smells a bit moldy. Only 2 days here though so bearable. They have cool wooden trails throuh trees leading to buildings with about 8 rooms each.

Porch in room. Screened in, which is nice. No hammock though, but nice chairs to chill and read.

Walkway up to room.

Look! A drinking fountain in bathroom. They think of everything here. ;)

  2. "IguazĂș" means "great waters" is one of the most frequented tourist sites in Argentina. That is why everything is more expensive here than in Cordoba.
